Ann
Parker earned degrees in Physics and English Literature before
falling into a career as a science writer. IRON TIES is the
second in her Silver Rush series, featuring saloon owner Inez
Stannert in the 19th-century silver mining boomtown of
Leadville, Colorado. A starred Publishers Weekly review says
"Outstanding...
Plenty of convincing action bodes well for a long and successful
series."
Her debut, SILVER LIES, won the Willa Literary Award for Fiction as well as the Colorado Gold Award and was named a best mystery/thriller of the year by Publishers Weekly and the Chicago Tribune.
Ann is a member of Sisters in Crime, the Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, Women Writing the West, Western Writers of America, and the National Association of Science Writers. Her ancestors include a Leadville blacksmith, a Colorado School of Mines professor, and a gandy dancer. Ann, her husband, and two children reside near Silicon Valley, whence they have weathered numerous high tech boom-and-bust cycles.
