Courtney Mroch (a.k.a Courts
Mroch and C. Le Mroch) seems to have an affinity for the number
2. She’s written two books, Beneath the Morvan Moon and Cellfish
Ways, the latter of which was Echelon Press’s 2004 #2
best-selling dollar download. Her short stories “Leaving a
Mark”, “The Hammerhead”, and “Skin Ish Ca” all placed second in
contests (Bitten’s 2005 short story contest, Twisted Shift’s
2005 short story competition, and the 2003 Preditors & Editors
Readers Poll, respectively). The most recent addition to her “2”
accolades came when Florida Monthly Magazine included her in its
lineup of 21 Intriguing Floridians. (Okay, so it’s not a second
place, but there is a “2” in it…) She’s a member of Mystery
Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and Romance Writers of
America. She’d like to break the “number two spell” by either
finally finishing (and publishing) her third book or by grabbing
a first place victory one of these days. However, she is
comforted by the fact that her husband often tells her she’ll
always be number one in his book.
