Nancy Mehl’s novels are all set in her home state of Kansas.
“Although some people think of Kansas as nothing more than flat
land and cattle, we really are quite interesting!” she says.
Nancy is a mystery buff who loves the genre and is excited to see more cozy mysteries becoming available to readers who share her passion for novels without explicit sex, profanity, and graphic violence. “I love authors like Agatha Christie,” she says. “I chose to read novels that follow the true ideals of mystery. I also enjoy characters with depth and humanity. Hopefully, readers will find these same attributes in my books.”
Her newest work, the “Ivy Towers Mystery Series,” combines two of her favorite things – mystery and snow. “Some winters have been pretty dry in Kansas. I enjoy writing fiction because I can make it snow as much as I want!”
Nancy spent many years as a book reviewer. She was the assistant editor of The Charlotte Austin Review and had her own column on Myshelf.com. For three years, she wrote a book review column for The Wichita Eagle, the largest newspaper in Kansas.
Besides writing, Nancy works for the City of Wichita, assisting low-income seniors and the disabled. She also runs a volunteer group, Wichita Homebound Outreach.
She lives in Wichita, Kansas with her husband of thirty-five years, Norman. Her son, Danny, is a graphic designer who designed several of her earlier book covers.
