Ten years later, Ben Reese, a university archivist who'd been a behind-the-lines scout in WWII, is asked to track a murderer who's breached US security. An inflicted injury makes Ben's mission more dangerous and disturbing, but he's willing to keep his life on the line, once he learns of a Soviet code partially decrypted by the US and Britain, and sees its implications.
