Can handwriting be faked to make murder look like suicide? When ruthless Hollywood publicist Lindsey Alexander drowns in her hot tub, Lindsey’s partner, Ivan Novak, calls forensic handwriting expert Claudia Rose. Ivan isn’t willing to believe that the note left at the scene is Lindsey’s handwriting and he wants Claudia to prove it’s a forgery. Then Ivan is brutally attacked and left for dead, and Claudia joins forces with sardonic police detective Joel Jovanic. Together, they discover that Lindsey’s business included the seamy side of sex, and blackmail in high places. It soon becomes clear that someone is willing to kill to prevent exposure.
