Susan Oleksiw is the author
of the Mellingham series featuring Chief of Police Joe Silva,
and the Anita Ray series, a Hindu-American photographer living
in India. Her Reader's Guide to the Classic British Mystery is
considered a standard reference work. Along with two other
writers, she is co-founder of Level Best Books, which publishes
an annual anthology of crime stories by New England writers. She
was also co-editor for the Oxford Companion for Crime and
Mystery Writing. In past years she has been a freelance writer
and social worker, and sometimes, when the stars are properly
aligned, she has made a living as a writer.
