Tasha Alexander is the
daughter of two philosophy professors and grew up in South Bend,
Indiana, completely surrounded by books. At age ten, she had a
mad crush on Mr. Darcy (what girl in her right mind wouldn’t
have a mad crush on Mr. Darcy?). She graduated from the
University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in English and a
concentration in Medieval Studies. Following stints running a
temporary employment office in Laramie, Wyoming, and working as
a pharmaceutical sales rep in Vermont, she had a baby and
retired from corporate life. The week before her
three-and-a-half-year-old son happened to stop napping, she
returned to her original love, writing, and started work on And
Only to Deceive. Two months later, the manuscript was finished.
She currently lives in Franklin, Tennessee, where she can
frequently be found in the comfy chair at the Five Points
Starbucks working on her next novel.
