BNo matter what other work I
happened to be doing, I have always been a writer. A lifelong
Connecticut resident (except for my flower child period, when I
lived in California), I have directed public relations for
nonprofit organizations, written advertising copy for an
insurance company, promoted national tradeshows for the design
and construction industry, and served as executive assistant to
several top executives, among my many, many day jobs. So if you,
too, live in Connecticut, chances are excellent that we've met!
Along the way, I also produced three nonfiction books, as well as numerous articles and essays. A couple of years ago, I broadened my repertoire to include fiction. My mystery, Waiting for Armando, will be released by Wings in May 2006. A sequel, entitled A Slip of the Tongue, follows in early 2007.
Whatever the genre, I strive to provide lively, entertaining reading that takes my readers away from their work and worries for a few hours, stimulates thought on a variety of contemporary issues, and gives them a laugh along the way.
Alley Cat Allies and the National Wildlife Federation benefit from every book sale. The protection and humane treatment of all animals, both untamed and domesticated, is important to me. I would love to be rich and be able to donate pots of money to the worthy organizations working in this area, but alas, my means are limited. Still, one does what one can. For me, that means keeping my day job to pay my bills and donating $1.00 from every book sale to two terrific groups: Alley Cat Allies, which protects and downsizes feral cat colonies humanely, and the National Wildlife Federation, which works at local, regional and national levels to protect wildlife and preserve their natural habitats.
